Following the dissemination by certain media outlets in the pay of the separatist front of misleading information regarding the audience granted by Ghanaian Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to the individual they described as “the ambassador of the fictitious sadr to Ghana,” the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a clarification via its official Facebook and X (former Twitter) accounts, confirming that the State of Ghana’s decision to withdraw its recognition of the so-called “rasd,” dated January 6, 2025, remains in effect and has not been reversed.

In its post, the ministry also reiterated that the Ghanaian government welcomes the adoption of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 which expressed full support for the Secretary General and his Personal Envoy in facilitating and conducting negotiations taking as basis Morocco’s Autonomy proposal with a view to achieving a just, lasting and mutually acceptable resolution to the dispute, consistent with the UN Charter.
