The State of Qatar reaffirmed, Monday in New York, its support for the Autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom to achieve a lasting settlement to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
This is a “constructive” initiative that constitutes the basis for any realistic solution to the question of the Moroccan Sahara, emphasized the Qatari representative, who was addressing members of the 4th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly.
The diplomat also expressed his country’s support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to the Moroccan Sahara, aimed at facilitating the achievement of a lasting and compromise political solution within the framework of the political process conducted under the auspices of the United Nations, in accordance with Security Council resolutions, including 2756, and respecting Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
