The working session is part of Mr. De Mistura’s consultations in preparation for the forthcoming meetings of the UN Security Council.

On this occasion, the Moroccan delegation reaffirmed the unchanging constants of the position of the Kingdom of Morocco, as set out by His Majesty King Mohammed VI with a view to achieving a realistic, pragmatic, and lasting political solution based exclusively on the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, within the framework of Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

To this end, the delegation reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for the efforts led by the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy.

Talks also focused on the latest developments regarding the growing international support for the Moroccanness of the Sahara and the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative as the only basis for achieving a political solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, within the framework of the diplomatic momentum initiated by His Majesty the King.
