The Republic of Senegal has welcomed the historic adoption on October 31, 2025 by United Nations Security Council of Resolution 2797 which enshrines, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, the preeminence of the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom as the only basis for serious, credible and sustainable to reaching a political solution to the artificial conflict on the Sahara.

This stance was expressed in the Joint Communiqué adopted on Monday in Rabat, following the meeting between minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, with minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad Cheikh Niang, currently on a friendship and working visit to the Kingdom.
