The Republic of Sierra Leone reaffirmed on Thursday in Rabat its support to Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over all its territory, including the Sahara region, while noting with great satisfaction the historic adoption by the United Nations Security Council of Resolution 2797.
This position was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone, Musa Timothy Kabba, during talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
Kabba also reiterated his country’s full support to the Moroccan Autonomy Plan, considering it as the only credible, serious and realistic solution to this dispute.
During these talks, he also stressed that the Republic of Sierra Leone welcomes the growing international consensus and dynamic driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in support of the Autonomy Plan and the Sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara.
In this respect, Kabba pointed out that Sierra Leone notes with great satisfaction the historic adoption, on October 31, 2025, by the United Nations Security Council of resolution 2797 which enshrines, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as the only serious, credible and sustainable basis for achieving a political solution to the artificial dispute over the Sahara.
