The State of Qatar reiterated, Monday in New York, its support for the Moroccan autonomy plan, deeming it a “constructive” initiative and an “objective” basis to achieve a realistic and lasting solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

Speaking before the 4th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, the representative of Qatar, Jassim Al-Thani, voiced his country’s support for the efforts led by the UN Secretary-General to facilitate the achievement of a lasting and compromise political solution within the framework of the process conducted under the auspices of the United Nations, in accordance with Security Council resolutions, including 2703, and in respect of Morocco’s sovereignty and its territorial integrity.
