President of Gabon Transitional National Assembly Reiterates His Country's Commitment to Defend Moroccan Sovereignty Over Sahara

President of Gabon’s Transitional National Assembly, Jean-François Ndongou, reaffirmed, here Monday, his country’s commitment to defend the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara in regional and international forums.

During his talks with Speaker of Morocco’s House of Councilors, Enaam Mayara, Ndongou emphasized Gabon’s support for the kingdom’s territorial integrity and its renewed commitment to defend the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara in regional and international forums, based on common historical and brotherly ties, the House of Councilors said in a press release.

He underlined that his country pays particular attention to promoting its relations with Morocco, not only in economic and political fields, but in all aspects that brings them together as two allied countries in more than one way.

President of Gabon’s Transitional National Assembly reiterated the importance of the parliamentary dimension in strengthening Moroccan-Gabonese relations to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.

Highlighting the political situation in his country, Ndongou affirmed that the management of the transitional phase is taking place under the best conditions in accordance with the set schedule, expressing his thanks for the kingdom’s support to Gabon both bilaterally and multilaterally.

For his part, Mayara welcomed Gabon’s firm position in favor of the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara, as well as the efforts made by the Gabonese diplomacy in various international arenas in this regard.

Mayara also highlighted the joint coordination between the two countries in regional and international forums, as well as the clearly evolving relations in economic and commercial fields, emphasizing in this context that there are real opportunities for development of these relations.

The Speaker of the House of Councilors also praised the quality of the historical and brotherly relations between the two friendly countries, based on the values of solidarity, cooperation and mutual respect.
