Gabon Reiterates Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity

President of the Transitional National Assembly of the Republic of Gabon, Jean-François Ndongou, reiterated, here Monday, his country’s firm position in favor of the kingdom’s territorial integrity and the Moroccan sovereignty over of the Sahara.

This position was expressed during a meeting between Ndongou, on a working visit to the Kingdom at the head of a delegation of the Gabonese Transitional National Assembly, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, the Lower House said in a press release.

In this regard, Ndongou recalled that the Republic of Gabon was one of the first countries to participate in the Green March in 1975, the same source added.

During this meeting, Ndongou gave an overview of the transition phase in Gabon and the roadmap to establish strong institutions and achieve a fluid democratic transition, through honest and transparent elections which reflect the consensus of all Gabonese political parties.

For his part, Talbi Alami hailed the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and the two peoples, expressing the will of the Moroccan House of Representatives to share its experience and expertise in matters of parliamentary action and to strengthen cooperation with the Transitional National Assembly of Gabon, particularly in the areas of digital transition, archiving and parliamentary administration.

Talbi Alami also highlighted the major projects and deep reforms underway in the Kingdom under the wise leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and gave, on this occasion, an overview of the history and composition of the legislative institution and its constitutional roles.
