Chile reiterated on Friday in New York its support for the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco “over its entire territory, including the Sahara region,” as well as for the autonomy plan presented by Morocco to achieve a definitive settlement to this issue.
“Chile supports the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its entire territory, including the Sahara region,” stated Chile’s representative before the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly.
Chile, the diplomat added, “considers the autonomy proposal presented by Morocco in 2007 to be a just, lasting, and mutually accepted political solution, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.”
